Brenda Schweitzer, MS, RN
Approach
Throughout my career in healthcare, I have primarily worked in acute care within the hospital setting as a registered nurse. I was also fortunate to gain experience at the Southern Oregon University (SOU) clinic and in school nursing, which expanded my perspective and strengthened my ability to care for individuals across all age groups. These diverse experiences shaped a strong clinical foundation and honed my skills in critical thinking, emergency response, time management, and compassionate patient care.
While I am grateful for the invaluable knowledge and support gained during my time in hospital settings, I have long felt a calling toward a more integrative approach to health—one that seeks to understand the root causes of chronic illness and supports the healing of the whole person. I have personally gravitated toward alternative methods of care for many years, and I’m thrilled to now align my personal values with my professional work.
I’ve known Sandra and McClane since 2014, when we were neighbors and bonded over our shared passion for health and wellness. Joining the team at Siskiyou Vital Medicine (SVM) has reignited my love for working with patients who are engaged in their health journey and motivated to grow. I’m proud to be part of a team committed to prevention, wellness, and holistic healing. At SVM, I collaborate closely with our providers to offer treatments that support the body’s natural ability to heal.
It is truly a privilege to support you on your path to greater health, happiness, and vitality.
Background
I was born in a rural town in Nevada and have always enjoyed the lifestyle and community that comes with small-town living. My travels have taken me across the U.S. and around the world, but visiting big cities is enough for me—I always return to the peace of quieter places.
Raised in a conventional medical family, I grew up with frequent use of antibiotics and a deep trust in allopathic medicine. However, as I moved through college and began to explore a wider range of health modalities, I discovered the power of diet, exercise, nature immersion, and a more holistic approach to well-being. Today, I enjoy a healthy, strong body thanks to lifelong choices to spend time in nature, minimize stress, grow my own food when possible, and embrace laughter and joy. My fur babies are essential companions on this journey.
When I’m not at work, you can find me backcountry skiing, backpacking, surfing, or rafting—always seeking connection with the outdoors and the adventure it brings.
