Do I have to be a member to be seen at Siskiyou Vital Medicine?

No, you never have to feel obligated to have a membership in order to be seen by one of our providers. Our members do have priority on appointment availability, which allows them quicker access, usually within a few days. Wait time for non-members is currently 3-4 weeks.

Additionally, our members benefit from discounts on products and services offered through the practice.

Do your plans serve as health insurance?

Membership at Siskiyou Vital Medicine is not insurance coverage. Our services are designed to complement your current health measures.

For major medical needs not covered by our membership, many of our patients carry a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). This is often accessed through an employer or through the Healthcare Marketplace. Our patients often find that they spend substantially less on their healthcare overall by layering their insurance plan with their PHP membership.

Does my insurance cover your services?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a retainer medical practice. It is not health insurance. As such, Siskiyou Vital Medicine (SVM) may not bill insurance or Medicare/Medicaid programs. SVM members are also not allowed to submit claims to their insurance for any service(s) included in the membership. Services outside of those that are part of the membership and covered by your insurance may be reimbursable. Consult with your insurance company for details.

How can integrative medicine help me?

Regardless of what your goals may be, the illness and symptoms you suffer from – integrative medicine can very likely help you have more freedom in your life, to live the way you desire. Integrative medicine looks for the root cause of illness and removes it – which is different from allopathic medicine. Medicines used by integrative care are based in nature – minerals, vitamins, herbal treatments – and have less side effects than the chemical compounds allopathic medicine is using. All three aspects of life – body, mind and spirit – are addressed in integrative medicine, and it complements well with allopathic medicine.
